Land and Water Survival Training

Survival Training Overview

The Aeromedical Training Institute (AMTI) provides a comprehensive Survival Training program for client instructors. This training program includes detailed academic instruction for both land and water survival and addresses surviving in commonly encountered environmental conditions. Academic training can be structured as stand alone or to complement in the field land and water survival training exercises.

An AMTI instructor will prepare training materials suited to the customer’s training needs taking into account mission profiles, client country topography, client unique survival issues, and air crew experience levels. Specific courses are available for fighter, tanker/transport or helicopter aircraft. These training materials are delivered when the AMTI instructor arrives to conduct instructor training for the customer. This process creates a highly efficient training system where resident instructors become fully qualified to safely and effectively teach the AMTI supplied curriculum to air crews. Upon successful completion of the AMTI Survival Training course, client instructors are certified to conduct survival training by AMTI. Additionally, those client instructors who complete field instructor training will be certified to conduct field training and survival exercises.
